And now for something completely different.
Despite all the crap trying to bring me down, and I'll do a short list:
1. Having a bad fall and bashing my knee at the flying field. It's been 3 weeks and it's still painful. But getting better.
2.Having to go to a cardiologist, wearing a heart monitor. What a thrill. I have been having heart palpitations lately(actually all my life). Between all the stress, the anxiety attacks and my thyroid medication being too high which is contributing to them. They tell me I'm OK but wear this for 30 days to make sure.
3. The political horrors. The worst part is the crazy people attacking us for being kind, intelligent, loving people with a strong moral center.which for some reason they seem threatened by.
4. Add to that the fires and that absolute nightmare of thousands of good people losing their lives while the same crazy people say to me and I quote, "You got what you deserved" because we don't support MAGA.
So I have been working slowly on my films, art and most importantly to me the mental grounding your hobby can bring to you. Whatever it may be. Mine are many but two stand out. Slot cars and Model airplanes.
I have the Vampire sitting on its gear now. They retract. Nose wheel included. Engine and fan are in. Wing has its ailerons cut out and working with servos.
Next up working on the booms and installing 3 servos to control the rudders and elevators. Then I can attach the (reinforced with carbon fiber) booms to the wing structure and skin the top of the wing.
This has been a back engineering build and it's been a wonderful distraction as is the track in the backroom of my house thanks to Dave Kennedy who was kind enough to send it to me after our house was flooded last year and we lost everything including my slot car track.
OK now that I got that off my chest I'm back to editing my latest film. I thank all of you wonderful people for being in my life. You are what makes the world go round.
“…the larch.” 😎
I appreciate a reminder to devote some time to the things that bring joy and recharge me. Hope your knee heals quickly.
Hang in there Steve. We love you!
