I've been away...11-12-2023
I have been remiss in writing on Substack these days. A trip to the doctor last month found that I needed more surgery. Evidently scar tissue had built up since the first surgery and it had to be removed. This explained why I was in so much discomfort and pain in the month and a half leading up to this. After the surgery and the doctor could see inside my bladder it was clear the cancer had not come back. That was a week ago and I have been laid up at healing one more time and I still am.
All during that time leading up to it all I had been working on my projects. The main project being our new TV series, "Breaking the Silence". If you want to learn more about it please go to this Substack page.

In addition to all that I have been flying here and there and building from scratch this Smoothie RC airplane. My friend Mark Helmick did the CAD work and laser cutting for the wings and I made up the templates for laser cutting at the studio using the plans I found online for the aircraft. It is ready to fly at this point but I'm waiting until I'm feeling my best to fly it. Maybe next weekend.
And I got to fly the X-1 I built from scratch built years ago that I converted to an electric jet engine powered model the flew very well. I flew landed off the end of the runway which made for a nice picture. No damage. I just didn’t think it would glide so well with power off. The real thing was a dead stick airplane.
Now that it has flown well I plan to make an all wood construction version with more scale details. This was made from wire cut foam and covering.
The other thing that's been keeping my mind off all the medical stuff has been the TV series. Especially because I had to relearn and learn new things to produce the graphics, CGI models and animations I'll be using on the show. You can see some of the test animations, stills and more from the forthcoming first episode on the "Breaking the Silence" Substack page.
That's the update on where I have been. I'll try to write more often but much of my writing efforts are going into scripts for our episodes and our next Film.

I am so sorry to hear you have been going through all the pain and discomfort since your surgery. It's been a strange year for many people I know, myself included. I am glad to hear you're on the mend, I hope for a speedy recovery! The X-11 is utterly gorgeous! So cool!
love that plane! So glad you are feeling better and that your bladder is clear. Take your time and heal.
