Transfigured Night
While it takes time to write a new script and organise a campaign to start a new live action film I'm working in Unreal Engine 5 to make an all digital animated short film entitled, "Transfigured Night".
I am learning a great deal more about working with Unreal 5 as well as Blender 3D. Add to that MakeHuman and motion capture and it's getting very involved. With today's tech it's possible for me alone to make an entire film. I've been making characters. Building sets and landscapes. Lighting and setting up scenes to make this film.
The film is about a night of magic. It's positive, upbeat and hopeful. A different take than most of the lore you hear about encounters with the unknown and non-human intelligences. This film is a test of my skills and abilities and if successful it opens up more films on a variety of subjects I couldn't afford to do live action.
All this is helping me get through difficult times for me. It keeps my mind focused on being creative and constructive.
I thought I'd share a few rough images from some of the sets and scenes. The being was made using Blender in sculpt mode so she's entirely sculpted not AI generated.
These skills also allow me to generate any film visual effects for live action films and more should someone want to hire me for such work for their films. I still want to work in film very much as I always have.
